LDS5540ST
LG LDS5540ST Dishwasher Service Call
Most common issues on this model
- EasyRack Plus rack height adjustments
- Direct drive motor noise and pump flow
- Front panel response
- Drain path and filter
The LDS5540ST is an older LG front control dishwasher that pairs EasyRack Plus with an Inverter Direct Drive motor, LoDecibel operation and SmartDiagnosis. Compared with the LDS5040ST it adds the Plus rack, which suggests adjustable loading height.
That adjustability is where we look first. Rack height pieces, clips and wheels wear, and a rack that tilts can knock a spray arm or the door. After that we run the cycle and watch the fill, the wash and the drain, and listen for the pump.
If the panel will not respond, we check the door switch and the board connection before a replacement. We read the model and serial from the label first, and you get a written price before we start.

What does the Plus add to EasyRack?
The listing describes EasyRack Plus as a flexible loading system. We check the height clips, the wheels and the tracks if a rack sags or sticks.
Does the motor warranty cover my repair?
The listing mentions a 10-year limited warranty on the Inverter Direct Drive motor, but terms vary. Our workmanship warranty is 30 days on the repair we perform.
What makes a dishwasher louder over time?
Debris in the pump, a loose spray arm or a worn bearing are common. We listen during a cycle to locate it. Dry cycles, fill and drain are all watched while the machine runs.
