My microwave runs but does not heat. Is it worth repairing?

Why are there sparks inside?
Common causes are metal in the cavity, a damaged waveguide cover or food residue that has burned onto it. Stop using it, remove anything metal and look for burn marks. Do not run it again until the cover is checked, as arcing can damage the unit further.
Do you fix over-the-range microwaves where they hang?
