An LG range joins a cooktop and an oven in one body, so the control board, the sensors and the door all serve both. Gas, electric and induction versions have different parts, but each relies on an oven sensor and a control that decide when heat starts and stops.

In Houston kitchens, grease and humidity settle on igniters and burner ports, and spills reach controls around the cooktop. Power events during storms can also upset the electronics, so a range that worked one day may not accept settings the next.

We start by confirming what kind of range you have and what it does in each mode, then check the igniter or element, the sensor, the door latch and the control board. We tell you what the sign suggests, what it cannot prove, and give a written price before work starts.

05Range questions
My gas burner clicks but does not light. Is that safe?

If you smell gas, shut the supply, leave the room and phone the gas utility. If there is no smell, the cause is often a wet or dirty burner cap or igniter. Dry it and clean the ports, but stop using it if the problem persists.

Why is my oven cooking unevenly?

Several things can contribute: a worn bake element, a failing temperature sensor, a convection fan that is not turning, or a door seal that leaks heat. Tell us how far off the food is and which mode you use, and we test the system in that mode.

Can you service the air fry or convection feature?

Yes. Those modes depend on the convection fan, the element, the temperature sensor and the control board, so we test them in sequence. We explain which part is at issue and whether it affects other modes before suggesting repair.
