CBEW3617BE
LG CBEW3617BE Wide Radiant Repair
Most common issues on this model
- The 3.6kW element heating slowly
- Element that stays on after the control is turned off
- Touch panel that does not wake up
- Heat limiter cycling too quickly
The CBEW3617BE is a 36 in LG electric cooktop whose largest element is the UltraHeat 3.6kW. It is a current model with a glass top over radiant elements, and the wider footprint suits a kitchen with a full-size counter run.
If the large element is the problem, we test its output and wiring first, because it carries the most load. Then we check the control that sets its level and the limiter that cycles it, as both can make heat feel uneven. On this cooktop we also look at the surface light and the connection to the control, since both depend on the same power feed as the element.
The model and serial on the label decide which part we quote. You see a written price before work begins, and we cover the repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

What is special about the 3.6kW element?
It is the largest element on this 36 in cooktop and carries the heaviest load. If it is slow, we test its output and connection before looking at the controls.
An element stays warm after I turn it off. Is that normal?
Glass stays hot for a while, and the surface light tells you when it has cooled. If the element truly stays energized, we test the control, since that needs attention.
Does the width change the install?
Yes, the cutout and the supply are sized for 36 in. We confirm the model from the label before ordering parts so the right element or control board is quoted.
