One burner or element not heating

02

Constant clicking after a burner lights

03

Touch controls beep but do not respond

04

Induction beeps and shuts off quickly

05

06

Glass surface cracked or scratched

LG cooktops come in gas, smooth-top radiant and induction forms. Gas models rely on igniters and valves, radiant ones on elements and limit switches, and induction ones on coils, a cooling fan and a power board that senses cookware.

Houston kitchens add humidity, grease and the occasional boil-over to the picture. Moisture can creep under burner caps and into igniters, while spills on glass surfaces reach touch controls. Power surges can also leave an induction board unresponsive.

We check that the right cookware and settings are in use, then test the igniter, element or coil, the touch panel, the fan and the board, as the type requires. If the glass is damaged, we say so and explain the options. You hear the finding and see a written price before we proceed.

05Cooktop questions
Why does induction heat stop or beep?

Induction needs cookware with a magnetic base that sits flat and covers the zone. A pan that is too small, warped or not magnetic can trigger a stop. Try a different pan first. If it still shuts down, the zone, the fan or the board may need testing.

The burner keeps clicking after it lights. Is it dangerous?

Constant clicking is usually moisture or debris near the igniter, or a cap that is out of position. Turn the burner off, let it dry, and reseat the cap. If the clicking continues or you smell gas, stop using it and shut off the supply.

Is a cracked glass top safe to use?

No. A cracked glass top can let spills reach electrical parts and can break further when heated. Turn it off, do not cook on it and tell us when you book. Replacement of the glass or the unit depends on the model and the damage.
