LW1216ER
LG LW1216ER Window Unit with Remote Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Remote control response
- Cooling in a room near 550 sq ft
- Fan speed behavior
- Auto Restart after a power outage
- Coil icing and drain flow
Up to 550 square feet is the stated room size for the LW1216ER, an LG window air conditioner with 12,000 BTU of cooling. A remote sets temperature, fan speed and mode, and the unit lists Energy Saver mode, 4-way air direction and Auto Restart. There is also an LW1216HR version in the same group.
We treat a unit of this kind as a plug-in appliance first: outlet, cord and the way it sits in the window. Then we check the filter, coil, fan and compressor start. If the remote seems dead, we test the receiver and panel before blaming the board. Energy Saver and Auto Restart are control functions, so we run both. The label confirms the exact number, we match parts to it, and the repair price is in writing before work.

Error codes this model can show
The remote will not change the temperature. What is wrong?
It could be the batteries, the remote itself or the receiver on the unit. We try the panel and test the receiver to find which one, so you only pay for what is needed.
What room size is the LW1216ER for?
It is listed for rooms up to 550 square feet at 12,000 BTU. In a larger or very sunny room it may run constantly, which we separate from an actual cooling problem.
Is the HR version the same?
The listing includes LW1216HR, but we do not assume the same hardware. We read the label on your unit and match parts to that. The label on the unit settles the question, so we always read it first.
