Most common issues on this model
- Weak airflow with a fresh filter
- LCD indicator that shows a wrong or frozen reading
- Fan motor noise or vibration
- Multi-fan mode where one fan does not run
- Filter reminder that will not reset
The U9CS1C is an LG PuriCare air purifier with True HEPA filtration, an 818 square foot room-size circulation rating, a PM 1.0 sensor with an LCD indicator, multi-directional air flow and multi-fan mode. It is an older model still in many homes, usually in a large living room or open space.
Our checks start with the filter seat and airflow path, since a poor seal reduces output. Then we test each fan in multi-fan mode, the motor, and the PM 1.0 sensor behind the LCD. A reminder that will not reset points us to the control board.
We read the model and serial on the label before ordering parts and give you a written price before we start.

Why is airflow weak even with a new filter?
A filter that is not seated, a blocked intake or a slow fan can do it. We check the seal and the fans first. Replacing the filter again rarely helps if the cause is the fan.
What is multi-fan mode?
It runs more than one fan to move air in several directions. If one stays off, we test that fan and its drive. Each fan has its own drive and wiring.
The LCD shows a wrong reading. Is the sensor bad?
Possibly, but dust on the sensor window is more common. We clean it and compare the reading before replacing the sensor. Replacement is only the last step.
