AP151MBA1
LG AP151MBA1 Mini Purifier Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Rattling or grinding from the fan at higher speeds
- Fan running while the indicator light never changes
- Filter light staying on after a new filter is fitted
- Weak airflow at the outlet with a clean filter
The AP151MBA1 is a PuriCare Mini, a small LG air purifier meant for a bedroom, nursery, or desktop rather than a whole house. It is an older model that LG no longer sells new, so many of these units are still running in homes years after purchase.
On a compact purifier like this, the fan motor and the filter seat do most of the work, so that is where we start. We listen to the fan across its speeds, check that the filter sits flat so air cannot slip around it, and confirm the indicator light resets properly after a filter change.
Before we order anything we read the model and serial from the label on the unit. You get a written price before work begins, and our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Is the AP151MBA1 still made?
No. It is an older PuriCare Mini that LG has stopped selling new. We can still inspect the fan, the sensor reading, and the filter seat on units in use, and we tell you the price before any work starts.
Why is the filter light still on after I changed the filter?
On compact purifiers the light is often tied to a reset step or to a filter that does not seat flat. We check the seating and the reset first, then the indicator circuit if the light stays on.
The fan sounds rough on high speed. What do you look at?
We run the unit through each speed and listen for rubbing, dust buildup on the blades, or a loose housing. A small unit like the Mini often needs only cleaning and a motor check before parts are discussed.
