What CL means
CL on an LG Styler steam closet, for example the S3WFBN, means the control lock is on or the touch panel is not recognizing your finger. The buttons respond to the static electricity of your hand, so a wet hand, a glove or grime on the panel can stop them from working. With Control Lock on, only the Power button works. It is a setting and a touch issue, not a failure of the closet.
Common causes of CL
- Control Lock was switched on from the panel
- A damp or gloved hand that the touch buttons cannot sense
- Residue or moisture on the control panel surface
- A panel that stays unresponsive after cleaning
1. Dry your hands completely and remove any glove before touching the panel. 2. Wipe the panel with a clean, dry soft cloth. 3. Turn Control Lock off, then press the button you need. 4. If the buttons still do not respond, tell us what you tried.
- If a dry hand and a clean panel still get no response, the touch sensing itself needs checking on site.
- A panel that reacts only sometimes can point to moisture getting where it should not, and we look for that.
- We give the price in writing before work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Styler codes
Is CL on a Styler an error?
No. CL means Control Lock is on or the touch was not recognized. Only the Power button works while Control Lock is active, so nothing is broken when you see it.
Why do the Styler buttons not respond to my touch?
The buttons read the static electricity of your hand. A wet hand, a glove or dirt on the panel can block that reading, so dry your hands and wipe the panel.
How do I turn Control Lock off?
Use the Control Lock setting on the panel to switch it off. If the panel does not accept any press after that, we can check the touch controls for you.
Still unsure about CL?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
