What dHE means
dHE on an LG WashCombo all-in-one, ventless washer-dryer, such as the LG SIGNATURE WM9998HBA, is a built-in safety code for the drying fan motor. It shows when the fan does not turn or has an electrical problem, or after a one-time system error. The machine can still start a wash and spin, but the drying system needs inspection. The letters dE, dE1 and dE2 are door messages, not drying ones.
Common causes of dHE
- Whether the drying fan motor turns freely
- The fan wiring and connector
- The board output that drives the fan
- A one-time system error that has cleared
1. Unplug the machine, wait about 5 minutes, then plug it back in. 2. Run a dry cycle by itself with nothing else selected. 3. If dHE comes back, stop using the dry function and call us. 4. Washing and spinning may still work in the meantime.
- A fan that spins by hand can still fail under load, so we test it while the machine is running.
- The same code can come from the fan motor or from the circuit feeding it, and we sort out which before ordering anything.
- We give the price in writing before work, and the repair is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other WashTower & Combo codes
What does dHE mean on an LG WashCombo?
It is a safety code for the drying fan motor. The fan may not rotate, there may be an electrical problem, or the machine had a temporary system error.
Can I still wash clothes with dHE showing?
The machine can usually still start a wash and spin. The drying system is what needs inspecting, so avoid the dry function until we have looked at it.
Is dHE the same as dE?
No. dE, dE1 and dE2 are door errors and have nothing to do with drying. dHE concerns the drying fan system, so we look at the fan motor and its circuit and not at the door.
Still seeing dHE?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
