LG Craft Ice Maker Slow or Making Small Spheres: What Is Normal

Craft Ice forms round ice slowly, so it behaves differently from a standard ice maker. Here is how to judge whether yours is slow, normal or in need of a visit.

LG Craft Ice is designed to make slow-formed round ice, and slow is built into the idea. Owners who expect the pace of a regular cube maker often think something is wrong when the bin is slow to fill. Before you worry, check the basics.

What to check first

  • Confirm the ice maker is turned on in the control panel and the bin is seated.
  • Check that the freezer door closes fully and that nothing blocks it.
  • Replace the water filter if it is overdue; a clogged filter reduces water to the ice maker.
  • Give a newly installed refrigerator time to reach temperature before judging ice output.

Heavy use and Houston heat

If a party empties the bin, the Craft Ice maker will take time to catch up. A warm kitchen, a door opened often or a freezer packed against the vents also lower how much ice you get. Use the ice setting your manual shows for heavier use and leave the freezer enough room for air to move.

What suggests a real problem

  • No ice at all over a full day, with the setting on.
  • Spheres that arrive fused together or cloudy and shrunken.
  • Water on the floor near the freezer or frost around the ice compartment.

A slow ice maker can mean a filter, a water line, a freezer that is too warm or a part that has stopped working. We do not give a model-specific output rate because it varies, and a few hours of observation tells you more than a single look.

Keep a note of when the bin was last full and how long since. That is what we ask first.

Details are on the refrigerator repair page; confirm your area on the service area page and choose a three-hour window. Price in writing first, 30-day warranty on labor.

Tell us the model and the code. We will bring the part.
