What F62 means
F62 appears on LG induction and radiant cooktops, and on ranges with a cooktop section, that include a sous vide zone. It means the control has reported an error with the sous vide temperature sensor, the circuit that tells the cooktop how warm the water bath is. Without a reliable reading the zone cannot hold a steady low temperature, so sous vide cooking stops or will not begin. You will see F62 on the display until the condition clears. Ordinary burners are a separate part of the cooktop, so check whether they still respond.
Common causes of F62
- Sous vide temperature sensor circuit and its connection to the control
- Control board input that reads the sensor
- Wiring between the sensor and the board
1. Stop the sous vide cook and take the pot or pouch off the zone. 2. Let the surface cool until it is safe to touch. 3. Switch the circuit breaker for the cooktop off for 30 seconds, then switch it back on. 4. Start a short sous vide cook and watch whether F62 returns. 5. If it comes back, stop using the zone and schedule a visit.
- A breaker reset clears only a one-time glitch, so a repeat means the sensor reading itself is wrong.
- We read the sensor circuit and the board input to learn which side is giving the bad value.
- We confirm the zone holds its set temperature before we call the repair finished.
Other Cooktop codes
Can I keep using the burners if F62 shows?
Often the regular burners still work because the sous vide zone has its own sensor, but that depends on the cooktop. Try one on low heat. If anything behaves oddly, stop and let us look.
Is it safe to finish a sous vide cook with this code?
We would not rely on it. Sous vide depends on an accurate temperature held for a long time, and this code says the reading is in question. Finish the meal another way and have the zone checked.
What does the breaker reset do?
Turning the breaker off for 30 seconds lets the control restart and re-read its sensors. If the reading was a one-time glitch, F62 disappears. If it returns, the cooktop needs a hands-on test.
