What LED Blinking After Power Off means
If the LED keeps blinking and weak air flows after you turn an LG air conditioner off, the auto drying function is running. This applies to units that show CH codes, window and portable ones included. It lasts about five to fifteen minutes and is not a defect. The display may show Co or SC during this time. The owner notices the light and the gentle airflow and may think the unit did not switch off. It finishes by itself and then goes dark.
Common causes of LED Blinking After Power Off
- Auto drying routine after shut-off
- Fan and louver finishing the drying cycle
1. Wait for the drying to finish, which can take up to fifteen minutes. 2. Do not press the power button again and again during that time. 3. Confirm that the LED stops blinking on its own and the airflow ends. 4. If it keeps blinking far longer than that, unplug the unit and tell us.
- If the LED blinks for far longer than fifteen minutes, we test the timer and fan control.
- We check the display board if the LED pattern does not match the drying cycle.
- We quote in writing before any repair.

Is a blinking LED after power off normal?
Yes, when it lasts about five to fifteen minutes. The unit is drying its inside surfaces, and the blinking light only shows that this routine is still in progress.
Why is air still coming out?
The fan keeps running at a low level to dry the inside of the cabinet. This limits dampness and is part of the normal cycle, so it is not a sign the power button failed.
What if it never stops blinking?
If it goes on much longer than fifteen minutes, unplug the unit and let us know. We test the timer and the control directly instead of guessing at a part.
