What SP, CP, PO means

SP, CP, and PO (also shown as Po) appear on LG air conditioners that show CH codes, including window and portable units, when Power Cooling is turned on. The feature goes by other names too, such as Jet Mode, Ice Cool Power, Super Cool Power, and Turbo Z. These characters are not errors. They work in cooling mode only, and the unit runs harder than usual to bring the room down quickly. The owner sees the letters and hears a louder fan, and may think something has gone wrong.

1. Check the remote for a Jet Mode, Power, or Turbo button. 2. Press it to turn Power Cooling off if you want normal operation. 3. Confirm that the display returns to the temperature readout. 4. Remember it works in cooling mode only, so it will not engage in other modes.

Power Cooling pushes the fan and cooling harder to lower the room temperature quickly. The extra noise is expected and ends when you switch the feature off.

What do CP and PO show?

They show the same Power Cooling feature in different display styles. The feature also has other names, including Jet Mode and Turbo Z, depending on the model.

Can I leave Power Cooling on all day?

It is intended for quick cooling, so most owners switch to normal cooling once the room is comfortable. Running it all day is simply louder and uses the unit harder.
