What CH01, CH02, CH03 means

LG dehumidifiers show CH01, CH02 or CH03 when the electronics report an abnormality, such as a problem with the humidistat or the main board. Each of the three is listed on its own with the same description, so the number alone does not tell us which part is behind it. The unit usually stops and the code stays on the display. Take care not to mix this up with air conditioners, where the same characters point to sensor or wired remote problems. This page covers dehumidifiers only.

Common causes of CH01, CH02, CH03

  • Humidistat that senses room humidity
  • Main control board
  • Connection between the humidistat and the board
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Unplug the dehumidifier. 2. Leave it unplugged for 20 seconds. 3. Plug it back in and start it again. 4. Watch the display for a few minutes to see whether CH01, CH02 or CH03 returns. 5. If it comes back, stop using the unit and schedule a visit.

! Why to stop there
  • The same description covers three codes, so we note which one shows and test the humidistat and the board in turn.
  • A reset that works once but fails later points to a part that is going bad.
  • We confirm that the unit senses humidity and cycles normally before we call it done.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
CH01, CH02, CH03CH01, CH02, CH03 questions
Do CH01, CH02 and CH03 mean different things?

LG lists them separately but describes all three the same way, as an electronics abnormality such as the humidistat or main board. Note which one you see, since that helps us test.

Is this the same as the CH codes on an air conditioner?

No. The characters match, but on air conditioners they point to sensor or wired remote trouble. A dehumidifier is a different machine with a different circuit, so do not use air conditioner advice here.

Why unplug for 20 seconds?

That is the reset to try. It lets the control restart cleanly. If the code returns after a restart, the condition is real and the unit needs to be tested.
