What CH07 means
CH07 appears on LG 2-in-1 and ceiling-type air conditioners that serve more than one room or indoor unit. It means a standing unit and a wall unit, or two rooms, are set to conflicting modes: one wants heating while the other wants cooling or dehumidification. Units on a shared outdoor system cannot do both at once. The owner sees CH07 on the display, and one of the units may refuse to start or change mode until the settings agree.
Common causes of CH07
- One indoor unit set to heating while another is set to cooling
- One unit in dehumidification mode while another heats
- Mode changed from a different room's remote
1. Look at the mode on every indoor unit connected to the system. 2. Set them all to heating, or set them all to cooling or dehumidification. 3. Wait a minute and see whether CH07 clears. 4. If it stays with matching modes, leave the system off and arrange service.
- If CH07 stays with all units on the same mode, we test the mode logic and indoor unit communication.
- We check which unit last changed the mode and whether the setting sticks.
- We quote the repair in writing before starting any work.
Other Room Air Conditioner codes
Why can't one unit heat while another cools?
Units that share an outdoor system run in one direction at a time. When two settings clash, the system shows CH07 until every indoor unit agrees on the mode.
Is CH07 a sign something broke?
Usually not. It is a setting conflict between rooms, and matching the modes across every indoor unit normally clears it without any repair or parts.
Does dehumidification count as cooling?
Yes, for this code. Cooling and dehumidification can run together on the same system, while heating is the mode that conflicts with both of them.
Still unsure about CH07?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
