What rF means

On LG refrigerators with an LED or LCD temperature display, rF means an abnormality in the fan motor that moves cold air through the refrigerator compartment. Frost build-up around the fan can be the reason, since ice can block the blades. The fan is what spreads cold air, so you may notice warm spots, weak airflow, or a fresh-food side that does not cool evenly. The display shows rF, and some models show Er rF or E rF.

1. Move food to a cooler, then unplug the refrigerator and leave both doors open for 24 hours or more so any frost can melt. 2. Put towels down for the water that will run out. 3. Plug it back in, close the doors, and give it several hours to pull down. 4. If rF returns, stop and call us, because the fan or its circuit needs testing.
