The LCE3081ST is a 30-inch electric radiant cooktop from LG with SmoothTouch controls, Steady Heat technology, dual cooktop elements and a warming zone. It is a Legacy model, an older cooktop still found in many kitchens, built into a counter cutout above a base cabinet or a wall oven.

Why does only the inner ring of my dual element heat?
The dual element has two heating coils, and one can fail while the other works. We test each coil and the switch that selects it.
The touch panel is unresponsive. Is the glass bad?
Usually not. Spills or moisture can disturb the panel, and the control board may need a check. We test the controls before judging the glass.
What is the warming zone for?
It keeps cooked food warm at a low heat. If it stays cold, we test its element and control, and the wiring. Wiring and the terminal block are checked at the same visit.
