LCSC1513ST
LG LCSC1513ST Convection Microwave Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Convection heating element and fan when convection cooking is weak
- Microwave heating when food stays cold
- Door latch switches
- Cooling fan and thermal safety parts
- Keypad response
Convection, one touch settings, Custom Defrost and add time controls are on the LCSC1513ST, an older countertop microwave. Convection means it has a heating element and fan as well as microwave parts, so there are two heating systems to separate.
If microwave cooking works but baking does not, we look at the convection element, fan and its safety devices. If baking works but microwave heating does not, we test the high-voltage side instead. Knowing which mode fails saves time.
Convection models get hot, so we also check the cooling fan and vents. We quote in writing and read the model label before ordering parts.

Convection does not heat but the microwave does. Why?
The convection element, the fan, a relay or a thermal safety device may be the cause. We test them one at a time and quote the repair in writing before replacing anything.
Why is the cabinet hot to the touch?
Convection models run hot by design. We check the cooling fan and the vents for dust, since poor airflow can trip safety parts and make the cabinet hotter than it should be.
Can I use metal pans in convection mode?
Metal rules depend on the mode, so follow the cooking guide for your model. What we can say is that sparks inside the cavity call for an inspection before you use the microwave again.
