LG LF29S9730S Mini Craft-Ice Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Mini Craft Ice maker: fill, freeze and release
- Dispenser path and water filter
- Convertible compartment setting against actual temperature
- LED back wall lighting and ThinQ app connection
- Soft-close hinge action
The LF29S9730S is a current LG French four-door refrigerator at 29 cubic feet. It offers a new Mini Craft Ice option at the dispenser, a convertible compartment with five temperature settings, soft-close hinges and LED back wall lighting you can dim from the ThinQ app.
Our first checks follow those features. Mini Craft Ice depends on a working water supply, so we test the filter, valve and fill before moving to the freeze and release. The convertible compartment is checked by choosing a setting and watching the real temperature. For the lighting and app control we confirm the refrigerator is connected to the home network and that the LEDs respond. We also check the soft-close hinges and gaskets.
The label tells us the exact model and serial, so parts are ordered to match. Our price is put in writing before work starts, and the repair carries a 30-day warranty on workmanship.

What is Mini Craft Ice?
It is a new ice option at the dispenser of the LF29S9730S, meant for chilling beverages. When it is slow we start at the water filter and valve, then check the freezing and release.
Can the lights on this refrigerator be changed from a phone?
The LED back wall lighting brightness is controlled through the ThinQ app. If the app cannot reach the refrigerator, we check the network connection and the control board before the lights themselves.
How does the convertible compartment work?
It switches between fridge and freezer use with five temperature settings. If it does not follow the setting, we test its airflow and control, comparing the displayed setting with the measured temperature.
