LMH2235ST
LG LMH2235ST Over-Range Microwave Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Vent fan speeds and the ExtendaVent 2.0 airflow path
- Venting through the duct or recirculation
- Mounting bracket and top cabinet clearance
- Sensor Cooking that misjudges doneness
- Door latch, switches and cooking lamp
The LMH2235ST is an over-the-range microwave with a 2.2 cu. ft. oven capacity. LG lists ExtendaVent 2.0, a QuietPower ventilation system, an EasyClean interior and Sensor Cooking. It hangs under a cabinet above the cooktop, so it serves as both oven and range hood.
That double duty drives what we check. For the oven we test the door latch, the switches, heating and Sensor Cooking. For ventilation we run the fan at each speed, check airflow at the duct or the recirculating outlet, and look at the filters. We also confirm the mounting bracket and wall screws are secure, because this unit carries real weight over a hot cooktop.
We read the model and serial plate before ordering anything. You get a price in writing, and our repair has a 30-day warranty.

What is ExtendaVent 2.0 on the LMH2235ST?
It is LG's name for the vent system on this over-the-range model. If airflow is weak, we check the fan speeds, filters and the duct or recirculation path, not only the motor.
The microwave heats but the vent fan does not run. What is wrong?
The fan has its own motor and control, apart from the heating section. We test the fan at each speed, the connection to the control and the filters, and then quote the repair.
Do you check the mounting too?
Yes. This oven hangs from a bracket under a cabinet and over a hot cooktop, so we confirm the mounting screws and bracket are tight whenever we handle the unit.
