LP0818WNR
LG LP0818WNR Room Cooler Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Vent oscillation and fan noise
- Whether the remote and the panel agree on settings
- Hose and window panel for hot-air leaks
- Drain and filter condition for weak airflow
LP0818WNR belongs to the LG portable line sold at 8,000 BTU, with an LCD remote in the box and a vent that oscillates. It is described as cooling up to 200 square feet. This is an older model, but a number of owners still rely on theirs for small rooms.
In a small space the ducting makes the difference, so we inspect the exhaust hose, the window adapter and any gaps around them. After that we run the fan through each speed and watch the vent sweep. A scraping sound or a stopped vent points toward the louver drive.
If the unit is also leaking, we trace the water to the pan or drain fitting. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering parts, give a written price and stand behind the repair for 30 days.

What room does the LP0818WNR fit?
Its stated coverage is 200 square feet. That suits a small bedroom or office, and we judge performance against that size rather than against a whole living area.
Why is the fan loud on my portable?
A noisy fan on units of this type is often dust on the blades, a loose part in the vent or a motor beginning to drag. We clean and test before suggesting a replacement.
Does this model heat as well as cool?
This model is described as cooling only, at 8,000 BTU. If your unit seems to be in the wrong mode, we check the panel settings and the remote first.
