LP1017WSR
LG LP1017WSR Portable Service
Most common issues on this model
- Oscillating vent movement and noise
- LCD remote and panel agreement
- Cooling in a space near the 300 sq. ft. rating
- Exhaust hose seal, filter and drain
The LP1017WSR is an LG portable air conditioner rated at 10,200 BTU and described as cooling up to 300 square feet. An LCD remote comes with it, and the vent oscillates to spread the air. It has been discontinued, though it still turns up in family rooms and studios.
Spaces near its rated size make hose and window sealing matter more, so we examine the exhaust run first. Next we watch the vent sweep and listen for scraping, then test the remote against the panel to see which one is off.
A clogged filter or a blocked drain can also hold the unit back, and both are quick to check. We confirm the model and serial from the label before ordering parts, give a written price, and add a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Error codes this model can show
What area does the LP1017WSR cover?
Three hundred square feet is the stated coverage here. For an open plan or a sunny room, we compare the result to that figure before judging the unit.
My remote does nothing. Is the unit broken?
Not necessarily. We check the batteries and then the panel, because if the panel works and the remote does not, the cooling system is fine.
Can the vent be stuck?
Models with an oscillating vent can have the louver blocked or the drive worn. We test the movement and free it or replace the drive part as needed.
