LP1021BHSM
LG LP1021BHSM Heat and Cool Portable Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Switching between cool and heat modes
- Heating output and airflow
- ThinQ app connection
- Exhaust hose and window seal
- Remote and panel fan speed control
The LG LP1021BHSM is a portable air conditioner that cools with 10,000 BTU (SACC) and 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE) and adds supplemental heating rated at 12,000 BTU. It covers spaces up to 450 sq ft, is Wi-Fi enabled for the ThinQ app and rolls on caster wheels.
Because the same cabinet cools and heats, a complaint can come from either mode. We test cooling and heating separately: if the room warms but the unit will not cool, or the reverse, the mode selection and sensors get checked before the sealed system. We also check that warm or cool air really leaves the unit at a steady rate.
The exhaust hose and window seal matter in both seasons. If the ThinQ app loses the unit, we compare its own panel with the app. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering anything, and our written price comes before any repair.

Error codes this model can show
Cooling works but heating does not. What do you check?
We test the mode selection, the temperature sensors and the airflow in heat mode. This model heats as well as cools, so the two modes are tested separately.
Will the app control both modes?
This model is Wi-Fi enabled for the ThinQ app, which controls key features. If it stops connecting, we check the unit's pairing and its own panel.
What size room is it for?
It cools spaces up to 450 sq ft. A larger room or a drafty one may leave it running without catching up. This model cools with 10,000 BTU (SACC) and adds supplemental heating, so winter use needs the same attention to sizing.
