Most common issues on this model
- Freezer drawer fan and defrost operation
- Gasket seal on four doors and drawers
- Control accuracy in both compartments
- Ice maker and water supply, where equipped
- Whether the lights go out when a door closes
Full-size and four-door, the LPXS30886D is a French door refrigerator from LG that LG now lists as discontinued, so we treat it as an older model. We treat it as an older model: full-size, built into a kitchen cabinet opening, and often installed with a water line.
Four doors mean four seals, and uneven cooling often begins with a gasket that has hardened or pulled away. We run a dollar-bill style pull test along each seal, then move to the freezer fan and the defrost cycle. Frost on the rear panel or a fan that drags tells us whether the air path is working.
The LED lights and door switches are quick to test, and if the unit makes ice we look at the supply line and valve. Since we do not guess at part numbers, we copy the model and serial from the label inside the cabinet before ordering. You will have a written price before we start.

What is the first check on a four-door model?
We test the seals on all four doors and drawers, then look at the freezer fan and defrost cycle. Air leaks and frost cause many cooling complaints in models of this type.
Does it help to know the serial number?
Yes. The label inside the cabinet gives the model and serial, and we use both to match parts instead of relying on appearance, which matters for a line LG no longer sells.
What if I only want the diagnosis?
We can do that. You get the finding and the price in writing first, and any work we complete after your approval carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
