LW1813HR
LG LW1813HR Window AC with 4-Way Airflow Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Heating mode that does not warm the room
- Mode switching between cooling and heating
- Remote and panel input
- Fan speed and air direction vanes
- Coil frost and drain flow
The LW1813HR is a legacy LG window air conditioner with seasonal heating and cooling, multiple speeds for each, 4-way air direction and a remote control. It is an older unit that remains in use in many homes.
Units that handle both seasons give us two sets of checks. In cooling we look at airflow, the coil, the fan and the compressor start. In heating we confirm that warm air really comes out, that the fan speed changes follow the setting, and that the mode switch is not sticking. The remote is tested against the panel. The label provides the model and serial for parts, and you receive a written price before any work.

Why does heat mode take so long to warm up?
Some delay is normal, but a long wait or cool air points to a mode, sensor or heating-side problem. We test them in sequence. If heat never arrives, the sensor and heating side are tested next.
Can I use the remote to change the mode?
The unit comes with a remote. If it does not change modes, we check the batteries, the receiver and the panel buttons. A dead remote is often just the battery or the receiver on the unit.
Should I remove the unit in winter?
If you use the heating feature, you keep it in. If not, covering the outside keeps drafts out. We check the seal and drain whichever way you use it.
