LW2414HR
LG LW2414HR Window Unit Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Cooling output that seems weaker than the 23,000 BTU rating
- Heating mode that does not warm the room
- Breaker tripping when the compressor starts
- Ice on the coil after long cooling runs
- Loud vibration from the fan or loose mounting
The LW2414HR is a high-capacity LG window unit: 23,000 or 23,500 BTU cooling and 9,400 or 11,600 BTU heating, depending on the variant. It is a legacy model, an older unit still in many homes, typically in a large room or open living space.
A unit this size draws a lot of power at startup, so we check the outlet, the plug and the supply as well as the compressor. Then we run it in cooling and in heating to compare the airflow, the coil temperature and the fan speeds, and we look at how the cabinet sits in the window.
We read the full model and serial from the label before ordering parts and give a written price first. The repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.

Why are there two BTU numbers for this model?
The listing shows two cooling and two heating ratings, which means the model number covers more than one variant. We read the label on your unit to see exactly which one you have.
My LW2414HR trips the breaker. What do you check?
We check the outlet, the plug and the circuit first, then the compressor start. A large unit on a shared or worn circuit can trip even when the unit itself is sound.
Is heating weak compared with cooling?
The listed heating rating is lower than the cooling rating, so some difference is normal. We compare the air temperature in both modes before saying anything is wrong.
