WM3998HBA
LG WM3998HBA 4.5 cu. ft. Ventless Combo Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Heat-pump drying path and condensate removal
- Lint filter and pump filter on a 4.5 cu. ft. drum
- Drain pump and water inlet
- Door seal and boot condition
The WM3998HBA is an older LG 4.5 cu. ft. all-in-one washer/dryer. A single drum covers the wash and dry portions of a cycle, a heat pump dries the load with no vent to the outside, and TurboWash cuts the wash phase.
Units this size without a vent often go into an interior closet or laundry room where venting is hard to add. We check the wash side first when the load does not drain or fill properly: inlet, drain pump, filter and door seal. When clothes finish damp, we turn to the filter, the heat-pump path and the condensate drain.
As an older model, it may need extra care with parts. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering anything and tell you ahead of time if a part is hard to source. The price is written before we start, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Error codes this model can show
Does the WM3998HBA have a vent?
No. It is a heat-pump ventless all-in-one with a 4.5 cu. ft. drum, so moisture is removed inside the machine and the condensate has to drain well.
Why do clothes take so long to dry?
A clogged lint filter or heat exchanger, or a slow condensate drain, is the usual cause on a heat-pump dryer. We check those and the airflow before looking at the heat-pump system.
Is it worth repairing as an older model?
Often yes. We confirm the model and serial first, check part availability and give you a written price before any work, so you can decide with the facts.
