LFX28968SB
LG LFX28968SB 27 Cu. Ft. Fridge Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Ice maker output: fill, freezing and release
- Water filter and valve
- Cooling sensors with the defrost cycle
- Compressor start and run behavior
Among older LG French three-door refrigerators, the LFX28968SB holds 27 cubic feet. It is a legacy model that many homes still use, and the LFX28968D, LFX28968ST and LFX28968SW share its family. It has the Slim SpacePlus Ice System and the Smart Cooling System.
Our first visit begins with a thermometer in the fridge and freezer, followed by the defrost cycle and fan airflow. If the cooling is steady, we turn to the ice maker’s fill and harvest and the water filter and valve behind it. We also check how the linear compressor starts and runs.
With four variants in the family, we match every part to the model and serial on the label. You see a written price beforehand, and the repair carries a 30-day warranty.

Is this refrigerator 27 cubic feet?
Yes, the LFX28968SB is listed at 27 cubic feet. Its family includes other finishes, so we read the label to match the exact variant before we order anything.
What should I tell you about the ice maker?
Tell us whether ice is missing, small or clumped, and whether the water also comes out slowly. That helps us decide between the filter, the water valve and the ice maker itself.
Does Smart Cooling mean a sensor problem is likely?
Not necessarily. We compare sensor readings with a thermometer and look at airflow and the defrost cycle before blaming a sensor, so you do not pay for a part you did not need.
