With 20 cu. ft. and four finish options, the LTCS20020S is a current LG top-freezer refrigerator in the traditional layout, freezer above and fresh-food compartment below. The layout is the traditional one: freezer above, fresh-food compartment below, usually in a full-width kitchen opening.
Top-freezer units rely on one fan to send cold air down from the freezer, so warm food below usually leads us to the fan, the frost on the evaporator and the drain path that carries defrost water away. A blocked drain can leave ice at the bottom of the freezer or water inside the fridge.
We then check the gaskets on both doors, compare the digital control with a thermometer, and test the light and door switch. Model and serial come off the cabinet label before we order a part, and we put the price in writing before any work starts.

Why is there water under the crisper drawers?
A clogged defrost drain can send melt water into the fresh-food side. We clear and test the drain path. A clogged drain can also leave ice at the bottom of the freezer, and we check for that at the same time.
What is checked first when the fridge section is warm?
The fan, the evaporator frost and the defrost cycle, since cold air comes down from the freezer into the lower compartment. We also check the control reading against a thermometer inside the lower compartment.
How does a top freezer differ from a French door unit?
There are only two doors and one fan path, so diagnosis is more direct. We still check both gaskets, the display against a thermometer and the light switch during the visit.
