A WashTower is a stacked washer and dryer built as a single column, while a WashCombo does both jobs in one drum. Both save floor space and appear in many Houston townhomes, condos and closets where there is no room for two machines side by side.
That same tight space is what ages them: little airflow, trapped humidity and long hose and vent runs. A WashTower also shares a cabinet, so vibration from the washer reaches the dryer and any leak can run down into the lower unit.

If only the dryer in my WashTower fails, can the washer still be used?
Often yes, because the two sections run independently on one shared panel and power supply. If the panel itself is dead or the power is lost, both stop. Tell us what each section does and whether the control panel responds.
What is the difference between WashTower and WashCombo?
A WashTower stacks a separate washer and dryer in one cabinet with a single control panel. A WashCombo is one drum that washes and dries. They fail in different ways, so please tell us which one you have and its model name.
Can a combo unit be vented like a standard dryer?
Some all-in-one units condense moisture and need a drain instead of a vent, while WashTower dryers use the venting or heat-pump arrangement of their model. Check your label, and ask us before changing the installation.
