WM5000HVA
LG WM5000HVA Washer, SmartThinQ and Steam Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Steam heating and inlet
- TurboWash fill and spray
- SmartThinQ control response
- Door boot and latch
- Drain pump filter and hose
The WM5000HVA is an older LG front load washer with a 4.5 cubic foot drum, SmartThinQ, TurboWash, LG Steam and a direct drive motor. The WM5000HWA is a variant.
On a washer with Wi-Fi control and steam, the checks start at the machine: does it fill, heat and drain on its own panel. We then inspect the door boot for moisture, the pump filter for debris and the latch for contact. Connected features are a convenience, so we test the washer without relying on the app.
We read the model and serial from the label to confirm which variant we have. You approve a written price first, and our work is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Does Wi-Fi control change the repair?
Not the mechanical repair. We test the washer from its own control panel, which shows us whether the problem sits in the machine itself or in the way it connects to your home network.
My steam cycle does not seem hot. What do you check?
We check the supply, the heating and the water level during the cycle. Steam depends on a working heater and clear water paths, so we test those steps in order.
Are the HVA and HWA the same?
The WM5000HWA also exists for this washer. We expect them to share most parts, but we read your label and match the exact number so any finish-specific part is right.
