What vS, uS means
vS, also shown as u5 or uS, is a vibration-sensor problem on LG front-load washers with an alphanumeric display, including the WashTower washer half and WashCombo, and on LG top-load washers with an alphanumeric display. It can be a contact issue or a sensor malfunction. The owner sees the code and the washer may stop before spinning. The washer may stop before it spins.
Common causes of vS, uS
- Sensor contact issue
- Vibration sensor malfunction
- Temporary glitch in the reading
1. Press Start/Pause. 2. If the code recurs, power the washer off and restart. 3. Check that the load is balanced and the washer is level. 4. Write down which part of the cycle you were in. 5. If it still recurs, schedule an inspection.
- A repeating code leaves the sensor, its contacts and its wiring to test.
- We check the sensing and the washer's footing, explain the finding, and give a written price before work.
Other Washer codes
Are vS, u5 and uS the same code?
vS can appear as u5 or uS on the display. They point to the same vibration-sensor condition. The sensor lets the washer notice shaking, and a poor contact can make it read wrongly.
What is the vibration sensor for?
It lets the washer notice excessive shaking during spin. When it reads wrongly, the washer reports vS. The code can be written two ways, so match what your display shows.
Does an unbalanced load cause vS?
That is a different code, UE. vS is about the sensor itself. If both appear, we check the load and the sensor. If it keeps appearing, we inspect the washer and the sensor, and we give a written price before any repair.
Still seeing vS, uS?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
