What Spring Valley Village homes change about a LG repair
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach LG diagnostics here.
Inside the village, mailed to Houston
Incorporation passed in April 1955 by a vote of 183 to 165, under the name Spring Valley; the word Village came in 2007. About 1,480 homes line its residential streets, and every mailing address reads Houston.
State your address and the village name when booking, since the mailing city is Houston. That tells us the home is inside the village.
Wells blended with Houston supply
A groundwater reduction plan governs a blend of water from the village's own well and surface water from Houston. The village calls the usual split about 70 percent well and 30 percent Houston.
The blend can change, which is why we do not pin a slow fill on the supply. The filter, inlet screen and shut-off come first.
Restarts after the 2024 outages
In May 2024 a derecho cut power across the region, and Hurricane Beryl hit that July. Restarting after a long outage is when control boards and ice makers tend to misbehave.
If your LG refrigerator or ice maker behaved differently afterward, tell us what changed. We read the display, test the fill and check cooling.
New homes and first-step remodels
Dishwashers, gas cooktops with wall ovens and upstairs front-load laundry are typical of newer Spring Valley homes. In older homes being remodeled, a new dishwasher is frequently the first step.
Upstairs laundry puts a leak where it takes time to see. Tell us where the pair sits, and we check the hoses and the drain pan.
The village counts about 1,480 homes along residential streets and runs its own police department. Your mail may say Houston while the house is inside the village. Photograph the rating plate and tell us about parking.
The 2024 storms and the village’s mixed water supply are the two local points we keep in mind. We check the power path, fill and drain, and run a load. A breaker or outlet problem points to an electrician first, and a leaking line to a plumber.
