Most common issues on this model
- Touch panel and LCD display response
- Pet Care and SteamFresh cycle behavior
- TurboSteam water feed
- Lint buildup from pet hair
Current in the LG line, the DLEX5800A is a front load electric dryer with a 7.4 cu. ft. ultra large drum. It combines AI Sensor Dry, a SteamFresh cycle with TurboSteam, a Pet Care Cycle for pet clothes, toys and blankets, and a touch panel with an LCD display in place of a dial.
Homes that run pet bedding through the dryer tend to collect more lint, so we look at the filter, the duct and the area around the drum first. Then we check the touch panel response and the display. A panel that skips presses or goes dark points to the control board or its harness.
TurboSteam needs a water supply, so steam cycles that stay dry send us to the hose and valve. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering, and you see the price in writing.

Why does my dryer fill with lint when I wash pet blankets?
Pet hair collects fast and can pass the filter, blocking the duct. We clean the filter housing and the vent run and measure airflow, which also protects the heating parts.
The touch panel is unresponsive. What do you check?
We start with power to the control board and the display connection, then test the panel itself. A cleaned panel and a firm connector solve some cases, others need a replacement board.
What does the Pet Care Cycle need to run properly?
A clear vent and normal airflow come first, since this cycle uses heat and steam. If it ends early or leaves a damp load, we test the sensing path and the water feed.
