DLGX8501V
LG DLGX8501V Dial-A-Cycle Steam Dryer Service

Most common issues on this model
- Control panel and Dial-A-Cycle response
- Gas igniter and burner
- Steam fill and water inlet
- Vent restriction on long cycles
- Drum rollers and belt
A 3.9 inch LCD and Dial-A-Cycle control the DLGX8501V, an older gas dryer with a 9.0 cu. ft. stainless steel drum and TrueSteam. The front panel pairs a 3.9 inch LCD with a Dial-A-Cycle and touch buttons.
When the panel is unresponsive, we separate a control problem from a safety interlock by checking the door switch and power first. When it runs but does not heat, we look at the igniter, valve and vent.
Steam cycles bring in the water inlet. We confirm the model and serial on the door frame label before ordering, and give a price in writing before any part is replaced.

Error codes this model can show
The display works but the dryer will not run. Why?
The display can power up while the door switch, start input or a safety device blocks the drum. We test the door switch and power path first.
What does TrueSteam need to work?
A connected water line. We check that the supply is open, the hose is not kinked and the inlet screen is clean when the steam cycle fails.
Is this a gas or electric dryer?
The DLGX8501V is a gas dryer, so it needs a gas line with a shutoff as well as a standard electrical outlet. We check that connection and the igniter whenever the dryer stops heating.
