What dE2 means

This code appears on the LG SideKick pedestal washer, the WD100 and WD200 series unit that sits under a front-load washer. The control reports that the drawer is closed but the latch never confirmed it as locked. Owners usually hear a noise shortly after the cycle starts, and then dE2 takes over the display. The pedestal will not keep washing until the drawer registers as locked, so the load waits in the tub.

Why does the SideKick show dE2 right after a noise?

The noise usually comes from the drawer trying to lock. When the latch does not confirm, the control stops the cycle and shows dE2 instead of continuing.

Is dE2 the same as the other SideKick drawer codes?

No. dE2 means the drawer is closed but not locked. dE3 and dE4 describe different conditions, so each one points us toward a different check.

Can I leave the wet load in the SideKick?

You can, but it is better to open the drawer, restart, and finish the cycle soon. If dE2 keeps coming back, we can inspect the latch with a written price before any work.
