No. This dispenser is for liquid softener only, and another product can leave residue that stops the level from dropping. Beads, sheets or thick products can leave residue, and a level that never drops triggers Ed3.

How is Ed3 different from Ed1?

Ed1 is about the detergent pump. Ed3 is about the softener pump, so we look at a different side of the dispenser. The liquid softener tank needs a product the pump can move, and the first check is what is inside it.
