What does the duct clogging indicator mean?
It shows the dryer is detecting reduced airflow. We check the lint filter, the duct, the wall cap and the blower housing, because clearing the restriction usually fixes the indicator.
Does an ENERGY STAR dryer dry more slowly?
It uses lower heat and sensing to save energy, so cycles may feel longer. But very long cycles still point to a vent or heater problem, and we can measure which.
Can you fix a quiet-operation dryer that has become noisy?
Yes. New noise usually comes from worn rollers, the belt or the idler, or from something caught in the drum. We trace the sound and replace only the worn part.
