Often the water is not reaching the drum. We check the supply hose and its screen, the inlet valve and the steam path. A weak water supply can also shorten the effect.
What makes a dryer squeal while it turns?
A worn roller, idler or belt is the usual cause. We lift the cabinet, spin the drum by hand and replace the worn parts, then run a cycle to confirm the noise is gone.
