A digital dial is an electronic encoder rather than a mechanical switch, so a dial that jumps between cycles or skips clicks leads us to the encoder and the control board. A display that dims or loses characters points to the same area. We test those parts before looking at the heat side.

Why does the dial skip cycles when I turn it?
This dial reads its position electronically. A worn encoder or a loose connection can cause skipped or jumping choices. We test the encoder and the board connection before replacing the board.
The display is dim or missing characters. Can it be fixed?
Often yes. We check the display connection and the board output first. If the board itself has failed, we quote its replacement in writing before we proceed.
How do you tell a heat problem from a vent problem?
We measure airflow at the machine. Good airflow with no heat points to the element or thermostats. Poor airflow points to the duct, which we clear before any heat part is replaced.
