Part of LG’s older gas line, the DLG7101W has a 7.3 cu. ft. ultra large capacity, Sensor Dry, a FlowSense duct clogging indicator, ENERGY STAR certification and an aluminized alloy steel drum. Many homes still run one.
The drum material does not change how heat or tumble problems are found. A thump leads to the rollers, belt and idler, and a squeal often leads to the same parts. For no heat, we confirm the shutoff and test the igniter and valve coils, then check the duct.

Not for repairs. We care for the rollers, seals and belt underneath, which are what wear. We keep tools off the drum surface when we have it open.
The dryer squeals when it runs. What do you check?
The idler, rollers and belt are the usual suspects. We turn the drum by hand to feel which part is rough, then replace it and run a test load.
What is the FlowSense duct clogging indicator?
It warns that exhaust airflow is restricted. We clean the duct, check the run for bends and lint, and measure airflow to confirm the fix.
