Most common issues on this model
- Drain pump and filter on a small 0.7 cu. ft. drum
- Direct Drive motor and balance during spin
- Door seal and fill from the small dispenser
- Fit and leveling beside or beneath the matched combo
The UWD1CW is an LG SIGNATURE pedestal washer with a 0.7 cu. ft. Right Size drum. It is made to work with the LUWM101HWA washer/dryer combo, runs on a Direct Drive motor, and has specialty cycles for intimates, hand wash and active wear, along with SmartDiagnosis.
A small pedestal washer like this is used for delicates or a second, quick load next to the main machine, so it is usually installed in a finished laundry room or closet. We start with the water fill and the drain pump and filter, because a small drum shows drain problems quickly, then the motor and balance during the spin.
Because it is matched to a specific combo, we also check level and spacing between the two machines. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering parts. You get a written price before work starts, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Which machine does the UWD1CW go with?
It is listed as compatible with the LG SIGNATURE LUWM101HWA washer/dryer combo. We take that pairing into account for access, leveling and spacing when we service either machine.
What do the specialty cycles cover?
They are made for intimates, hand wash and active wear. If one of them behaves differently from a normal cycle, we run each to see whether the problem is the cycle control or the water and drain path.
The drum is small. Does that change the repair?
Slightly. A 0.7 cu. ft. drum shows a slow drain or a weak fill quickly, so those checks come first, followed by the Direct Drive motor and the spin balance.
