DR appears on LG top-load washers that signal problems with blinking LEDs. It is not an error. It is a special drain feature: when the washer is paused for 8 minutes mid-cycle, or powered on and left idle for 4 minutes, it times out and drains the water on its own. The owner may notice the washer draining without anyone pressing a button.

No. DR is a built-in drain feature, not an error. The washer drains itself after it has been paused or idle for a set period.

Why did my washer start draining on its own?

The timeout lets the washer empty the tub if a cycle is paused 8 minutes mid-cycle, or if it is powered on and idle for 4 minutes.

Do I need a technician for DR?
