DLG1002W
LG DLG1002W SmartDiagnosis Dryer Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Burner that lights and then shuts off
- Igniter and gas valve coils
- FlowSense duct indicator and exhaust run
- Belt and drum rollers
The DLG1002W is an older LG gas dryer with a 7.3 cu. ft. ultra large drum, SmartDiagnosis, an easy front control panel with LED display and a FlowSense duct clogging indicator. It is still in many homes and needs a gas connection, a 120-volt outlet and a vent to the outside.
A gas dryer heats with a burner, so no heat leads us to the igniter, the gas valve coils and the flame sensing, after we confirm the gas shutoff is open. A burner that lights briefly and then stops often traces to restricted exhaust or a weak igniter. We check the duct before parts.
Any work on the gas side is done carefully, and we leak-check connections we touch. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering parts and give a written price before work.

Error codes this model can show
My gas dryer tumbles but has no heat. What do you check?
We start with the gas shutoff and power, then test the igniter and the gas valve coils. A restricted vent can also shut the burner down, so we measure airflow.
What is the FlowSense duct indicator?
It warns that airflow through the duct is restricted. We clean the filter and the duct and measure airflow. On a gas dryer, clear exhaust matters for safe operation.
Do you test for gas leaks?
Yes. After any work on the gas connection we leak-check the joints we touched. If we smell gas or find a leak, we stop and make the connection safe before continuing.
