What IE, E02, E10 means
IE, E02 and E10 mean the tub did not fill to the required level in the set time. This applies to LG front-load washers with an alphanumeric display and to LG top-load washers with an alphanumeric display. Causes include no water, a closed tap, a kinked hose, a frozen hose or tap, or a water supply valve that is not working. The owner sees the code and the washer stops waiting for water.
Common causes of IE, E02, E10
- Supply tap closed or hose kinked
- Frozen hose or tap
- Clogged inlet filter
- Water supply valve not opening
1. Make sure both taps are open and the hoses are connected. 2. Straighten any kinked inlet hose. 3. Thaw a frozen hose or tap with warm water below 50 C. 4. Clean the inlet filter. 5. On a WashTower, confirm the drain hose holder is in place and the hose end is not submerged.
- If water reaches the washer freely and the code stays, the supply valve and level sensing are what remain.
- We check the valve, the filters and the fill path, and quote in writing before work.

Why would the drain hose matter for IE?
On a WashTower, a removed hose holder or a submerged hose end can siphon water out as it fills. That can look like a fill problem. Water reaches the tub through those hoses first, so a bent hose or half-open tap is the simplest cause.
Which hose do I check first?
Start with the inlet hoses at the taps. Make sure the taps are fully open and the hoses are not bent. The washer has to take on its required level in a set time, and a slow fill can miss that mark.
Do the three codes differ?
IE, E02 and E10 share one meaning here. The characters depend on the model, so match what your display shows. Your display shows one of them, and the cause is the same slow or missing fill whichever you see.
