DLEX9500K
LG DLEX9500K Touch-Panel Dryer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- On-door touch panel response
- Door-mounted wiring and connector
- TurboSteam water feed
- Heat and airflow for a 9.0 cu. ft. drum
The DLEX9500K is a current LG electric dryer with a 9.0 cu. ft. mega capacity drum, a full touch on-door control panel, TurboSteam Technology and SmartThinQ Technology. The controls are on the door rather than on a console above it.
Controls on the door mean wiring that crosses the hinge, so a panel that flickers or goes dark when the door moves leads us to the harness and its connector. We also check the panel for moisture and the board behind it. Heat and drying complaints follow the usual path of power, element, thermostats and airflow.
TurboSteam needs a water feed, so a dry steam cycle sends us to the hose and valve. We read the model and serial from the label before ordering and agree the written price before starting.

Error codes this model can show
The door panel goes dark when I open the door. Why?
The wires pass through the door hinge, and a worn or loose connection can interrupt power to the panel. We inspect the harness and connectors before replacing the panel.
Can the touch panel be repaired?
Sometimes a connection or board behind it is the cause, and we can repair that. If the panel itself has failed, we quote its replacement in writing first.
What does SmartThinQ add?
It connects the dryer to the app for control and alerts. If the link drops, we check the Wi-Fi signal and the dryer settings before testing the control board.
